Students Should Be Doing the Learning
A tutoring session should not consist of a tutor doing all the work while the student watches.
Students need to read, write, solve problems, explain their thinking, practice, make mistakes, and try again. The tutor is there to guide that process and provide support when the student becomes confused.
Over time, students should become less dependent on immediate help and more confident in their ability to approach academic work independently.

Students can connect remotely with a tutor and receive live explanation, guided practice, and academic support from home.
Small Group Tutoring
Small groups provide a balance between tutor access and independent work, with fewer students than a traditional classroom.
Test Preparation
Students can receive targeted preparation for SAT, PSAT, ACT, and other academic admissions tests.
Quality Academic Support Should Be Accessible
Affordability has been an important part of Wiz Tutoring since its beginning. We believe families should be able to seek meaningful academic support without tutoring becoming an unreasonable burden.
That commitment is one reason we offer different tutoring formats and program options so families can discuss what best fits both the student’s learning needs and their circumstances.
Progress Matters More Than Staying Busy
A student can complete many worksheets without necessarily fixing the underlying difficulty.
We want practice to have a purpose. When possible, the learning focus should reflect what the student needs to strengthen, and that focus should change as the student improves.
Progress may mean stronger accuracy, better understanding, improved school performance, increased independence, or simply needing less help with a skill that once caused significant difficulty.
